Assistant Coach responsibilities

The role of the assistant coach is to provide support for the team coach with training, set up, match day and any other football matters as required. It is strongly recommended that assistant coaches also complete relevant FV certificates to give a grounding for the role.
Team manager responsibilities:
The role of a Team Manager is to have carriage of all practical matters:

  • Ensuring the correct equipment is available prior to every game for their team
  • Filling in and handing team sheets and passport to the match referee 15 minutes prior to kick off
  • Ensuring that there is no clash of playing strips and a first aid kit is available at the bench for games
  • Communication of fixturing, match scheduling, and helper rosters for match day duties such as oranges, kit washing, refereeing/assistant refereeing etc

It is intended that all coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, and parents work in a collaborative way, with we are a team on and off the pitch mentality.


Rosebud Soccer Club Coaches Position Description

Position overview

  • The primary purpose of the Club Coach is to provide relevant and valued coaching support within the Club environment, and to monitor and mentor players and conduct appropriate quality soccer activities that will enhance the players’ experience.
  • Expectation and duties:
  • Develop, maintain, and support a positive Club coaching culture and enjoyable player experience
  • Promote inclusive practice coaching at the club
  • Adhere to the Club’s values and constitution
  • Monitor and mentor both new/inexperienced and experienced players based on their development needs and skills
  • Develop training and skill development plans for the players
  • Develop trusting and meaningful relationships with players and their families
  • Be professional and mindful with families when discussing their child
  • Recruit players
  • Provide up to date Club information and any changes to processes
  • Report to President of any misconducts whether from players, families , coaches or spectators
  • Report the games results
  • Advocate for the Club decisions
  • Liaise with Club administrators and members of the FFV
  • Attend meetings and workshops where necessary
  • Work with the Technical Director with appointment of assistant coach
  • Appoint a team manager
  • Must hold a Working with Children Check Card (Volunteer)
